Immediate Steps to Take When a Phone is Lost or Stolen
- Lock the device via Find My iPhone.
- Visit your nearest SAPS and open a case of theft (if applicable).
- Contact your mobile service provider to block and blacklist the handset, supply the SAPS case number.
- Contact iStore Pay support as soon as your able too so that your account can be checked for suspicious transactions. Supply SAPS branch, case number and device IMEI number so that the handset can be listed in our repairs database as stolen.
- Once a new device is purchased, the merchant can download and login to iStore Pay App on the new device, follow the prompts and you can start transacting immediately.
Implications of Lost or Stolen Device

Data
- Merchant data (transactions, payout, etc.) are stored on the cloud and not directly on the device.
- Therefore, iStore Pay merchants can rest knowing that their data is safe and securely stored off the device.
- Once the device has been blocked on FMI the stolen device and its data will not be accessible on the device until you unlock it with your passcode.
- Once the merchant downloads iStore Pay App on their new device and signs in all the transaction data and history will appear just as it was on the previous device.

Payouts
- If a phone is lost or stolen, payouts for transactions already processed (or processed on their new device) will still be paid out to the merchant's bank account.
- The theft of the device does not affect previously processed transactions.
